Love Returned
Precious child of mine
As I watch you sleep
For a brief moment
You seem so peaceful
But dark circles
Around your eyes
Against the back-drop of your pale skin
Remind me of your pain
I so wish
I could take it from you
For you are far too young and beautiful
For illness to rob you
Of this God-given life
I pray that the breath
That gave you life
Will once again restore you
And heal you
As only He can do
So others can experience this love
He has created
And can once again
Feel those tiny arms
Reach out
Wrapping joyously around our hearts
Returning His awesome and unfailing love…
