i'm a woman who has been subject to people stifling my right to voice my opinion orders to remain speechless resound continously in my skull. numbers of times woman have been instructed not to state their cases exceeds the numbers of times they wish to do so. women are only to be seen and not to be heard, the deafning mastication of the various snacks at the movies is surely more disruptive than my tiny whisper. i'm told not to gloat about my most significant achievements which i'm so proud. i listen intently to everything but hear nothing original and i suspect that everyone's volume has been turned down by the society. not everyone will read our efforts but there is no safer alternative by which we can state our cases. it makes me think that though death can't be worse than the overhanging stilness threatining to steal my voice away.
